How to collaborate ?

The excellent links we enjoy with our partners are the lifeblood of the EIA-FR. Our institute is committed to helping businesses innovate and develop new services or products.

There are a number of ways businesses can engage with the EIA-FR.

Service contract

Companies can commission the Institute to undertake research and development work tailored exclusively to the needs of the contracting party. The subsequent contract sets out the details of the R&D services to be provided by the Institute in return for payment.

Research contract

The Institute is commissioned by a third party to provide research and development services which are tailored to the needs of both the contracting party and the Institute. The subsequent contract sets out the details of the R&D services to be provided by the Institute in return for payment.

Research collaboration

The professors and scientific staff members of the institute conduct research projects with one or several partners. The partners contribute to the research effort either by providing material support or their time and effort. Collaboration is governed by a contract which specifies collaboration conditions and questions related to intellectual property.

Bachelor’s/Master’s thesis

The Institute is commissioned by a third party to provide research services in the form of a Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis. As a general rule, the Institute is not paid for this service. The project description, which serves as a contractual agreement, sets out the details of the research services to be provided.

TRANSFORM: Collaborating with us

TRANSFORM works on finding innovative solutions to transforming the inhabited environment. Even though half of the research contracts from the professional community touch on this subject, TRANSFORM is the only institute in Switzerland working specifically in this field. In doing so, it bridges the research-reality gap. TRANSFORM manages to strike a balance by conducting research that combines cutting-edge theory and practical applications.

The interdisciplinary nature of the subject is reflected in the diversity of the professionals who work at TRANSFORM: architects, urban planners, engineers, historians, geographers, physicians, anthropologists and artists. With this team, the Institute has exactly the resources it needs to live up to its ambitions. TRANSFORM also has the ability to join a project of any kind – single building, an entire neighbourhood or town/village – and at any stage.

Our innovation partners

Companies who enter into a research partnership with our Institute can also benefit from our extensive regional, national and international network to boost their innovation performance.
